Two - Vehicle Accident Claims Two Lives Here

A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Colorado Street and U. S. Highway 84 resulted in the death of two Coleman women this past Friday at 3:22 p. m.  A car driven by Brenda Kirven failed to yield at the intersection, turning left on Highway 84 By-pass and was struck by a cattle truck traveling south.  Brenda Kirven and a passenger, Mary Allen, were taken to the Coleman County Medical Center and were pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Nance Campbell approximately an hour after the accident.  The driver of the truck, Howard Farr, was treated at Coleman County Medical Center and released.  “The driver tried to avoid the collision,” reported investigating officer Robert McNally of the Coleman Police Department.  “We measured 272 feet of skid marks and the trailer jacknived,” said McNally.
